Marathon Foundation supports the establishment of the Amphictyony of Ancient Greek cities

An initiative lead by Ilias Psinakis took place on Monday March 28th, at the Auditorium of the Museum of the Acropolis establishing  the “Amphictyony of Ancient Greek Cities” among regions and municipalities across Greece.

This initiative aims at the cooperation of the communities at local level and will be the basis for the protection and dissemination of Greek cultural heritage.

The event was introduced by Mr. Alexis Kostalas and the traction of the project was established by the attendance of multiple leaders such as the Minister of Interior and Administrative Reconstruction Mr. Panagiotis Kouroumblis, the President of the Greek National Commission for UNESCO Ms. Catherine Tzitzikosta, the Secretary of Tourism Policy and Development Mr. George Tziallas, the President of KEDE Mr. George Patoulis, the Deputy Head of Eastern Attica Mr. Petros Philippou, the Deputy Head of Tourism, Culture and Sports in Central Greece Mr. Ilias Sanidas, the Deputy Head of Culture in Crete Mr. Costas Fasoulakis, the Deputy Mayor of Athens, Mr. George Apostolopoulos, the appointed City Councillor Culture Piraeus Mrs. Irene Ntaifas, the representative of the General Staff of National Defence, Brigadier John Hatzidimou, the President of the Acropolis Museum, Mr. Dimitris Pantermalis, the President of the Association of Greek Champions, Ms. Voula Kozompoli, the President of the Panhellenic Association of Secretaries General of Local Government “Cleisthenes”, Mr. Michalis Christakis, and many Mayors and representatives of Municipal Authorities.

Ilias Psinakis, as the President of Marathon Foundation, signed the Memorandum.
